Only in the US for now: Facebook’s live video feature

The social network Facebook has its early December announced live video function now unlocked, for all users in the US and thus drives a frontal attack against the competition from Twitter. The 140-character network had launched the in-house application Periscope, to stream live video as early as last March.

With the new Live video that is to be rolled out in the coming weeks around the world, Facebook users can share with family and friends “thrilling moments” and comment this in real-time. In addition to individuals and public figures and verified Facebook pages can post their own live video. A subscription feature, which can enable on profile pages from already liked users, notify you as soon as a new live videos is streamed into the network.
The new function requires only two finger taps to be activated.
